USC Football: Deion Sanders Sheds Light On Strategy Against Trojans

O-Line is a big focus for Colorado this week

One of the most anticipated games in week five of the college football season is taking place in Boulder, Colorado this weekend.

Deion Sanders is once again drawing a lot of attention to Colorado's matchup against USC.

In preparation for the game, Coach Prime is giving a glimpse into what fans should expect following a 42-6 loss to Oregon last week.

The Buffs struggled on offense in Eugene and getting back into its rhythm has been a focus in practice for the team.

Through four games, Shedeur Sanders, star quarterback for Colorado, has been sacked 22 times.

During practice, the focus has been on protecting the quarterback, as Neill Woelk of CUBuffs.com

"You don't want your quarterback to get touched," said Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders in his regular Tuesday press conference. "We're giving up not only pressures but sacks. Sometimes you hold it waiting for guys to clear, waiting for guys to get open. Sometimes there's nobody open. So it is what it is. We have to fix it."

Although the defense has been one of the biggest weaknesses for the Trojans, USC's defensive line has been getting hot as of late.

In its matchup against Arizona State this past week, the USC front line recorded eight sacks.

The o-line continues to be a focus for Colorado in its running game as well. Against Oregon, the run game was nearly non-existent.

Coach Prime says that running the ball will be another focus for the team heading into the USC game.

"We got to run the ball," Coach Prime said. "Not only that, we got to implement short and intermediate as well as the deep passing game. But the main thing, you got to protect your quarterback. I don't care who you are. You got to protect the quarterback."
